Muhammad Ali Attends Bar Mitzvah

A website recently reported that the grandson of boxing legend Muhammad Ali recently went through a traditional bar mitzvah ceremony, which is very interesting considering Ali converted to Islam in the 1960s and raised his daughter in a Muslim household. Under Jewish law only one parent needs to be a practicing Jew in order for a child to go through a New York City bar mitzvah party or bar mitzvah and Muhammad Ali’s son in law was Jewish which meant that his grandson was raised in a household with a Muslim mother and a Jewish father. The theme for the bar mitzvah was one of inclusiveness and diversity.
