Engagement pictures are one of the prime markets for personal vacation photography.

All the images of greece one finds on the internet these days seem to be those cheesy tourist shots posing in a chair on the beach or showing off in front of the Acropolis in Athens. Some of the most incredible are actually the engagement pictures people take in front of the great monuments world heritage – co opting these important historical sites in order to make their wedding feel just a little more special! For some people, of course, the photos of such an experience abroad are as or more important than the experience itself. It is a sad testimony to the state of the world we live in today that having photos and videos to share on social media is at times more important than doing the things we are spending all that time taking photos and videos of! This is the way things are, though, which is part of the reason that the personal vacation photographer subset of the creative job market is able to exist. If you do not already know what this is, click here to see some example of what I am talking about. In short, though, the idea involves finding a good travl photographer and then hiring them to come along with you on a trip somewhere in order to follow you around and take photos of you while you are there. It can be a bit more complicated than that, of course, and often clients seem to end up relying on them for travel advice and a sort of guided experience as well. Especially with the ongoing economic recovery in the United States the the growing tendancy towards more spending, it will be interesting to see how this trend progresses over the coming years. With international tourism growing for US consumers, it seems reasonable to assume this vacation photography thing will as well.
